The Lynk & Co Cyan Racing drivers fought hard in the FIA World Touring Car Cup opener at the Nürburgring Nordschleife to secure two podium finishes.

Yvan Muller and Santiago Urrutia crossed the finishing line of the first race in second and third position, sharing the podium on the legendary 25km circuit.

"This was not a bad weekend in the end and we got important points in the bag. We had the capacity to do better. Our car is fantastic in the corners but not fast enough on the straights. That's not a problem with our engines, but rather the Balance of Performance. Now our focus is on the next race and to fight back there," said Yvan Muller.

Santiago Urrutia and Yvan Muller were the top-scoring Lynk & Co Cyan Racing drivers this weekend with 29 points in the bag for both. The Uruguayan driver finished fifth in the second race and the French driver seventh.

"I had a difficult time at the Nürburgring last year, so I am very happy with third and fifth this year - scoring some good points. The team gave me an awesome car this weekend and a big thank you to everyone," said Santiago Urrutia.

Reigning world champion Yann Ehrlacher had two tough races, finishing eighth in Race 1 and tenth in Race 2.

"The pace was there, but we've been a bit unlucky. I missed a potential podium finish or even a win in the first race because of another driver crashing into me. So I dropped quite some places. We just need to fight back and keep scoring points," said Yann Ehrlacher.

The WTCR weekend in Germany was one to forget for Thed Björk who finished 13th in the first race and retired from the second due to a puncture on the demanding circuit.

"It was a tough weekend for me. I didn't get it right in qualifying, so had to start from 15th position in both races. I fought hard but ended the weekend with a puncture unfortunately. The car felt good however and that is what we bring to Portugal, a race that I very much look forward to," said Thed Björk.

Santiago Urrutia and Yvan Muller share fourth position in the drivers' championship ahead of the second WTCR weekend that will take place at the Estoril circuit in Portugal on June 26-27.
