Lynk & Co Cyan Racing fought scorching heat on the streets of Marrakech in Morocco to claim two KUMHO FIA TCR World Tour victories courtesy Yann Ehrlacher and Ma Qing Hua.

The first race of the weekend saw double world champion Yann Ehrlacher starting from pole position, a position he kept throughout the race to his first KUMHO FIA TCR World Tour win of 2024 - climbing to third position overall in the drivers' championship. "A great feeling to get that first win of the year. It was for sure not easy, you never know what to expect on a street circuit in this heat. We had to push hard and try to manage the tyres. It was a shame with the retirement in the second race due to damage in the race. But at the end of the day, we scored valuable points for Cyan Racing to the championship which obviously is our main target," said Yann Ehrlacher.

Air temperature neared 35 degrees celsius for the second race which Ma Qing Hua commanded, claiming his second-ever TCR World Tour victory.

"I'm super happy! I've raced here before, but this is my first victory and I enjoy it a lot. A big thanks to everyone in the team, back home at the Cyan Racing HQ, Lynk & Co and Geely Group Motorsport. Let's continue this feeling for the remaining part of the season," said Ma Qing Hua.

Santiago Urrutia has strengthened his position as the best-placed Lynk & Co Cyan Racing following a solid Race 1 podium, climbing to second place overall - just eleven points from the lead.

"The first race was really good to secure a 1-2 with Yann. But I was surprised by the pace of the Hyundais with their added weight for this weekend, we were pushing hard and they were so strong. My clutch overheated at the start of the second race which ment I had to fight back up after that. But a good weekend in total and now I'm looking forward to race in the US," said Santiago Urrutia.

Thed Björk landed two top ten finishes in Marrakech to hold ninth place overall after the first two race weekends of 2024.

"For me personally this was not the result I hoped for and that we had the speed for. But for the team in total, this has been a good weekend and I'm really happy to see my team-mates at the top of the podium. Now I'm looking forward to Mid-Ohio which I have raced at many years ago," said Thed Björk.

Two victories and a total of three podium finishes in Marrakech keeps Lynk & Co Cyan Racing in second place of the teams' championship lead, trailing BRC Hyundai by one point.

Next up for the Lynk & Co 03 TCR drivers is round three of the KUMHO FIA TCR World Tour, taking place on the other side of the Atlantic ocean at Mid-Ohio in the USA on June 8-9.
